(Q1) What is your business?
We are a multi award winning floral business in Derbyshire, providing flowers for Weddings, funerals and gifts. We also send our gift bouquets all over the UK with an overnight courier service.
(Q2) How long did you work in your shed for?
Over 2 years!
(Q3) Do you still use the shed now?
Unfortunately I don’t.
(Q4) Could you have started the business without the shed or was it a key factor to the business?
Not at all, when starting the business, I was finding my feet and gaining experience with family and friends orders so needed to keep my overheads very low – the shed was a very cost effective outlay and perfect for what I needed it for.
(Q5) Would you recommend using a shed as an initial office to start out?
Definitely, it is always best to test the market first, a lot of businesses fail in the first year, so it is imperative to keep costs and overheads as low as possible to start out – my Dad bless him fitted it out with electric, work benches, and cupboards, it was perfect as a starter.
(Q6) Latest business news, accolades and awards…..where are you now?
We have recently won east midlands best wedding florist for 2012, voted for by past customers and up for national which will be announced on Wednesday 18th!
